Friction

The production of high-quality brake and friction linings requires a wide variety of raw materials. Depending on the intended use (automotive, rail, industrial and motorcycles, to name a few), the demands and requirements can vary greatly. But, in addition to metal powders (Cu, CuSn, CuZn, Fe, Cu-free alloys, among others), all brake linings contain both abrasive components (zircon, aluminum oxide, nesosil, among others) and lubricant constituents (such as graphite, MoS2, Kaolin) and friction modifiers (titanates, among others).

The aim is to ensure maximum brake performance (including minimizing noise pollution, vibration, braking hardness) and minimal wear of lining and brake disc.

For more than 30 years, we have worked closely together with manufacturers of brake and friction linings on the development and optimization of suitable raw materials. As a result, we now offer a broad range of alternative materials, especially in the area of titanates and zirconium silicates, that our customers are very happy with.
